The conservation area incorporates The Green which is a focal point of the village, Lincoln Road which passes by the green (southwards) to reach a smaller green at the junction with Sudbeck Lane, Sudbeck Lane, the southern end of Vicarage Lane, parts of Norbeck Lane and Cliff Road, and Church Lane. The conservation area occupies an area of 13.56 hectares.
There are 10 listed buildings within the conservation area including the Church of St Mary (II*). There is also 1 building of local importance.
