Ropsley conservation area is divided into two parts - Chapel Hill and High Street/Church Lane. The Chapel Hill area is centred on 1 Chapel Hill and is smaller than High Street/Church Lane area which is much more linear in form as it incorporates most of High Street and Church Lane as well as the south side of Crown Hill. The conservation area covers a total of 7.03 hectares.
Both sections of the conservation area are residential in nature.
There are 4 listed buildings in the conservation area including the Grade I listed Church of St Peter (11th – 17th century).
