The conservation area encompasses High Street, Middle Street, Drury Street and Church Walk and the majority of the properties that abut those streets. Also included are parts of Fen Road (by the church) and Princess Street. Green space to the south of the village is also included. The conservation area covers a total of 17.12 hectares.
The conservation area is primarily residential but it also contains a number of commercial properties on High Street.
The conservation area contains 14 listed buildings all of which are Grade II except for St Wilfrid's Church and churchyard (C12, Cl.5, 1601 and C19) which is Grade II*. There are also 5 unlisted buildings of local importance in the conservation area.
