The conservation area boundary is drawn to include the entire village of Holton le Moor; it occupies an area of 10.49 hectares. Present day Holton le Moor predominantly reflects its history as a planned estate village although there are a number of buildings included within the conservation area which predate the planned village.
There are 5 listed buildings within the conservation area including The Hall (Grade II*).
