The conservation area is linear in nature as it incorporates the Old Main Road and the properties that abut it. The conservation area extends from the junction with Fleet Road to the west and to the park to the east. The conservation area cover an area of 6.82 hectares.
The conservation area is predominantly residential with several commercial properties.
There are 6 listed buildings in the conservation area, all of them Grade II. The conservation area also contains 8 unlisted buildings of local interest.
