East Stockwith conservation area is rural and linear in form. It occupies an area of 3.12 hectares. The conservation area is centred on the historic core of the village; it features a mix of early 18th and 19th century buildings together with long narrow strips of land which traditionally accommodated farmhouses and ranges of outbuildings.
There are 5 listed buildings within the conservation area including 49 Front Street (II*). There is also one building of local importance.
