The conservation area boundary follows the north side of the churchyard before turning south and running along Main Street/B1188. It then turns east along a field boundary before turning north to end at the north-east corner of the churchyard. The conservation area therefore incorporates only the churchyard and part of the former Blankney Park. It covers an area of 1.07 hectares.
The conservation area is open green space except for the church.
The conservation area contains 2 Grade II and 1 Grade I listed building – St Oswald’s Church (C12, C13, C15 west tower rebuilt 1805-7, restored c1820 and restored 1879-81 by Carpenter and Ingelow).
