The conservation area is essentially linear in form and encompasses the whole village with the exception of the four council houses on Bennington Lane and the two modern houses on Ease Lane to the west of The Farm. The conservation area covers a total of 21.70 hectares.
The conservation area is a combination of residential and agricultural buildings. There are a total of six farms within the conservation area.
There are 11 listed buildings within the conservation area, all Grade II except for The Old Rectory (Grade II* - C16, C17, c1730) and All Saints’ church (Grade I - C11, c.1190, late C13, C14, C15, C17, 1749-52 restored in 1811, C19, 1951).
