Stamford

The conservation area encompasses Rutland Terrace, Scotgate, Priory Road, and the west end of Ryhall Road. The Town Meadows on the north bank of the Welland are also included. The boundary also incorporates the parish of St Martin’s on the south bank and extends along Water Street, the western end of Barnack Road, and the area between Station Road and Kettering Road. The area covers 8.6 hectares of the town of Stamford. The conservation area covers a total of 66.53 hectares.

The conservation area is predominantly a mix of residential and commercial properties.

The conservation area contains approximately 434 listed buildings including 5 Grade I (St Mary’s, St John the Baptist, St George’s, St Martin’s and All Saints churches) and 120 Grade II*. There are also in the region of 53 un-listed buildings of local interest.
