South Witham

The conservation area comprises most of the older buildings fronting the High Street and Church Street, including properties in Water Lane and North Witham Road at the north. The eastern boundary follows the ridge of rising ground adjoining Church Lane, but excludes newer properties fronting its north side. The conservation area covers a total of 8.42 hectares.

The conservation area is predominantly residential.

There are 10 listed buildings within the conservation area, all Grade II except for the Church of St John the Baptist (late 12th century) which is a Grade I listed building.
