The conservation area follows the boundary of Park House park in the north before turning south to incorporate several properties on the east and west sides of Church Lane. It continues south around the church yard and the grounds surrounding the windmill then heads west across Broad Lane and around the sports field then crosses Shivean Gate and Bell Lane before linking up with the boundary of Park House park.
The conservation area is predominantly residential with several small commercial properties.
There are 17 Grade II and 2 Grade I listed buildings in the conservation area. The 2 Grade I listed buildings are the Windmill (c.1822) and All Saint’s Church (c.1180, c.1200, mid C14, late C15, 1777, restored 1867).
