Market Deeping

The conservation area is basically ‘L’ shaped thereby encompassing all those properties fronting onto Church Street up to St Guthlac Avenue to the north and those on High Street before Godsey Lane. The boundary also encompasses several properties to the south of Stamford Road/west of Lincoln Road. The conservation area covers a total of 14.10 hectares.

The conservation area is predominantly residential but it also contains a number of commercial properties to the south end of Church Street and to the west end of High Street/Market Place.

There are 61 listed buildings in the conservation area including a collection of tombs and gravestones in the churchyard. All of the buildings in the conservation area are Grade II listed buildings except for the Old Rectory (Grade I) and St Guthlac’s Church (Grade I).
