The conservation area encompasses the whole of the built village of Irnham thereby including all of the properties on Corby Road, Swinstead Road and Hawthorpe Road. The conservation area also incorporates the grounds of Irnham Hall. The conservation area covers a total of 14.85 hectares.
The conservation area is primarily residential.
The conservation area contains 21 listed buildings including the Grade I listed St Andrew’s church (dating from the 12th century with c.1858 restoration).
