The conservation area encompasses most of the built village except for a collection of modern agricultural buildings to the east of Back Lane and modern development on Corby Road south of the Post Office Lane junction. The conservation area also includes a collection of earthworks approximately 100m south east of St Thomas á Beckett church. The conservation area covers a total of 10.95 hectares.
The conservation area is primarily residential but also includes a number of agricultural buildings.
There are 6 listed buildings within the conservation area including St Thomas á Beckett church that is Grade I listed and dates back to the 12th century.
