The boundary follows as far as possible the natural field boundaries around the hamlet taking in land associated with the adjacent farm buildings and built environment. The southern and eastern boundaries are less clearly defined but relate to existing and projected features enclosing former orchard areas and land and buildings fronting onto the road. The conservation area includes the majority of buildings in Braceby and important trees and orchards. The conservation area covers a total of 6.71 hectares.
The conservation area contains a mixture of residential and agricultural (or former agricultural) buildings.
The conservation area primarily consists of three 17th century farms and includes 10 Grade II listed buildings and a single Grade II* building – St Margaret’s Church. There is also a single un-listed building within the conservation area.
